Is NoNex Similar to Super.so?

NoNex is completely different from Super.so.

NoNex is a SaaS ( Software as a Service ) product for clients who want to build their websites using Notion as a database and CMS, with Next.js for frontend development.

We personally build client websites using our Notion Renderer and Next.js. We connect your Notion account to the website, and after successful build, we deploy your website on Vercel. You will have your website files completely on your GitHub, giving you ownership and control.

On the other hand, Super.so hosts your website pages code within its main codebase. This means Super.so runs a single instance of Next.js and redirects each user's webpage based on the users domain.

With NoNex, you receive the codebase of your own website, and we grant you access to all our Notion Renderer files. This means that if you want to add any code, customize blocks, page, or feature to your website in the future, you can do so easily.

Why We Built NoNex?

When I began creating websites for my portfolio and personal blogs, the need for a reliable database solution became apparent. I explored various options such as Firebase, MySQL, SQLite, and PostgreSQL, as well as several CMS platforms like Contentful and Strapi. However, these solutions presented numerous challenges. Deploying the database separately, managing it, and the associated costs proved to be time-consuming and expensive. Additionally, the content management systems I experimented with lacked interactivity and user-friendliness. Learning Markdown structures to format content added further complexity to the process of creating visually appealing websites.

Then, I discovered Notion a transformative platform for content creation. Adding and formatting content became intuitive and enjoyable, with the ability to incorporate various content types seamlessly. Notion's API also allowed for easy access to page content.

With Notion's capabilities in mind, I set out to render Notion pages and databases and integrate them into my websites. After several months and multiple iterations, I successfully developed a robust Notion Renderer. This allowed for seamless integration of Notion content into websites, with the flexibility to customize any content blocks.

This journey led to the creation of NoNex—a solution designed to address the needs of website creators like you. With NoNex, there's no need to worry about database costs or management. You can effortlessly add beautiful content from Notion, eliminating the complexities of Markdown formatting. What you see on your Notion page is precisely what you get on your website.

Does Using Notion as a Database for Websites Put Load on Notion Databases?

No, when using Notion as a database for a NoNex website, all data for your webpage is fetched from the server during deployment. This means that during build time, the website interacts with the Notion API and fetches the data only once. The resulting website is server-side and generates static websites at build time. This allows for pre-rendering of pages and serving them as static files, ensuring that your NoNex website does not impose additional load on Notion databases./bread
